Plot Summary
In the not-so-distant future, humanity is expanding across the stars—and colonizing the deadly ice world of Niflheim is the next step. But the mission is too dangerous for ordinary humans. That’s where “disposables” come in.
Mickey, an expendable employee on the expedition, is sent on suicidal missions—because when one body dies, another is regenerated, complete with most of his memories intact. But after dying and regenerating six times, Mickey 7 begins to question his identity, purpose, and the moral cost of immortality.
Things get complicated when his next iteration—Mickey 8—is activated before he dies. Now, two versions of the same man exist, breaking every rule of their cloning system and threatening to unravel the entire mission.
