The Monkey (2025) – A Twisted Toy Unleashes Deadly Horror in This Stephen King Adaptation
The Monkey is an upcoming supernatural horror thriller based on a chilling short story by Stephen King. Directed by Oz Perkins (Gretel & Hansel, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House), this dark tale brings a childhood toy to terrifying life. Scheduled for release on February 21, 2025 in Canada, the film has already sparked buzz among horror fans for its eerie premise, atmospheric tone, and King’s signature dread.
Plot Summary
After discovering a mysterious wind-up monkey toy in their attic, twin brothers begin to witness a string of horrific and unexplained deaths that haunt their family. The toy, seemingly innocent, clangs its cymbals just before each new tragedy strikes.
Twenty-five years later, the once-close siblings are estranged—emotionally scarred and living separate lives. But when the cursed monkey resurfaces and the killings begin again, they must reunite and confront the evil object that tore their lives apart decades earlier.
What begins as a reunion quickly spirals into a fight for survival, as the brothers face the terrifying truth behind the monkey’s origins and its insatiable thirst for death.
